ABOUT ABOUT
Mark Rozovsky - Russian/Soviet playwright and artistic director of the Nikitsky Gate Theatre in Moscow. His credo, "Theatrical Circles Arranged in a Spiral", appeared in 1972. Rozovsky is best known outside Russia for a stage adaptation of Tolstoy's Kholstomer as The Story of a Horse, which was given a memorable production by Tovstonogov in Leningrad (St Petersburg). It was seen at the Edinburgh Festival in 1987 and also in English-language productions in New York and London (1984, the latter directed by Michael Bogdanov). In 1989 Rozovsky was responsible for staging Tretyakov's controversial play on sexual mores, I Want a Baby, banned since Meyerhold first attempted to produce it in 1930.

In Houston he will present a one-man production in Russian.
